When you visit us

On your first visit to our practice, our preference is to ask you a series of questions about your health challenges and pain issues. We then perform a thorough spinal, neurological and orthopaedic examination to ascertain the nature of your problem. Then, only if clinically indicated (e.g. evidence of more serious problems), x-rays may be taken – usually during that first visit. (We have complete on-site spinal radiographic equipment.)

We also like to explain how chiropractic care works and show you a short video.

However, we understand that sometimes the only thing on your mind is your pain and ridding yourself of it. In such cases, we may initiate some mild palliative care.

After this initial consultation, where we may apply some form of remedy, we prepare a ‘Report of Findings’ to discuss with you at your second visit.

In cases of complicated or long-standing problems, the exact cause of your symptoms may not be immediately clear. We then gradually ‘peel back the layers’, working with you to reveal the underlying cause.

Sometimes it takes only a few visits – this is when we celebrate. But it is more likely that your problem has developed over many years. You need to know that repairing long-term damage may take time and some assistance from you.

Our entire aim is to help you make a quick return to work and daily activities as well as provide you with some self-management techniques to help you keep your pain under control or minimise the chance of recurrence.
