Rebates and Claims

Health Fund Rebates

Private Health funds provide rebates for chiropractic care, massage and podiatry. Contact your health fund for more information.

Workers Compensation Claims

You can elect to have a chiropractor provide your care for a work-related injury.

Chiropractic care is covered under the Workers’ Compensation Act. A medical referral is generally not necessary, unless you are totally unfit for work and you are claiming wages.

You must notify us at or before your first visit of your Workers’ Compensation claim. And, you must tell your employer of your choice to be treated by a chiropractor. We will provide you with the relevant forms to complete or you can download them here and fill them in to bring to your appointment.

All procedures must be paid for in full until the claim has been accepted. Once accepted, a gap payment will apply at each visit and this is payable by you on the day. If you need time off work, you will need to visit your GP for a medical certificate.

Motor Vehicle Injuries

The Insurance Commission of WA (ICWA) provides payment for chiropractic care for injuries sustained in motor vehicle collisions. You must report your collision and injuries to the ICWA (telephone 9264 3333) who will provide you with a claim number. We will provide you with the relevant forms to complete.

Veteran’s Care

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs pays for chiropractic care to Veterans on medical referral. Please ask your GP for a referral.

Accounts

Please note: Burswood Health does not have patient accounts and payment is due on the day. Patients then claim from the ICWA.

Payment difficulties

We encourage our patients to discuss any financial difficulties with our Operations Manager.
