What does chiropractic care involve?
When you feel pain, it is often the tip of the iceberg. It is the body’s natural signal telling you that something is wrong and should, therefore, not be ignored or covered up. The cause must be determined and then dealt with. Constantly treating the symptoms rather than the cause can only result in even longer term or more complex health problems.
We focus on how muscles support the alignment of your bones, joints, especially those of your spine. We use a combination of massage, manipulation and/or adjustments, as well as other complementary methods as well as educating you on how to avoid future problems.
If initial intensive care is needed, it may take two to six weeks to achieve not only pain relief, but also stabilisation. While we may recommend this, it really depends on your goals and your decision.
Initial intensive care is followed with rehabilitative care that is less frequent (once every week or two, then once a month).

Improving the alignment and function of joints through chiropractic care greatly assists in the ability to deal with chronic pain while also relieving associated muscle stiffness and tightness.

Once the problem is under control, we then offer maintenance or supportive care. This is more likely for people with chronic conditions that will never go away, but can be managed by periodic chiropractic care and daily exercises that we will provide.
The key difference at Burswood Health is our ‘Active Care Programme’ – which means the decision-making actively revolves around you. Active Care is also about the parts you do to help yourself in collaboration with one of our practitioners. While our focus is you, it’s also a team effort. The more you put in, the quicker your recovery will be.
